GBA4 iOS 2.0 App Download Released For iPhone, iPad With iOS 7: Roms, Game Genie, and Action Replay Cheats Won't Require Jail Break or Clock Reset
The GBA or Game Boy Emulator for iOS users is now back with its 2.0 version. This time, it has a full iOS 7 redesign. It also comes with iPad optimization and support for the original Game Boy color games. It has a built-in web browser in order to download ROMs and the best part about the new version is that it is much easier to install. It does not require a jail broken device or workaround in setting the device clock to 2012. Before the 2.0 update, GBA would only work even if it was not jail broken when the device clock was set back to 2012.
For the new GBA4iOS version 2.0, no initial data change is required. However, it has a warning that says the device clock must be set back to 2/19/14 should the app fail to open. With this new version, gamers can now enjoy Game Boy Advanced, Game Boy Color, and Gameboy ROMs directly on their iPhones and iPads. However, the software will only work when the devices are running iOS 7.
Before, downloading the game would require navigation outside of the app in order to find ROMs. However, with the new version available, there is an in-app web browser that can be used to download games from any ROM website. The new game also includes full support for game cheats and can accept various code formats, which include Game Genie and Action Replay.
In a recent update, Apple had already revoked the enterprise certificate that allows GBA4iOS to be installed by itself on iOS devices. This means that the device setting had to first be turned back to Feb. 18, 2014 before downloading. The good news is that once the game is downloaded, the time setting can be returned to the original time, so it is not really a big deal.
