Chris Brown's Family, Friends Worried Singer Addicted to Sizzurp?
Chris Brown's friends and family are growing increasingly concerned that he might be hooked on sizzurp, a drink mixture involving the drug codeine.
TMZ reports Brown was recently spotted pumpkin shopping with his daughter Royalty, with a double-stacked red cup perched at his feet and another double-stacked directly behind him.
Sources indicate the problem has been getting worse over the last several weeks for the "Loyal" singer and has even gotten to the point where he freely downs the substance around his year-old daughter. Given Brown now shares joint custody of his daughter in a volatile arrangement with her mother Nia Guzman, some worry that he is running the risk of being stripped of those rights.
TMZ previously reported Brown tested positive for codeine during a custody hearing, but was given a pass by the judge because he had a prescription.
Brown was also recently spied attending a birthday party for the young son of rap pal Tyga, again seen in a video drinking from a double red cup while riding a bike. Reports are the clip also includes another man carrying a bottle of codeine and soda, and the two appear to mix the two in broad daylight in a parking lot.
The 25-year-old Brown has reportedly deemed any such concerns about him as "bullsh*t."
There's no denying the last several months have been a tough time for Brown, who split with girlfriend Karrueche Tran, after it became public knowledge he had fathered a child with another woman, then engaged in a running war of words with Tran.
Tran recently hinted to reporters she's convinced her association with Brown has hampered her career, a claim that unsurprisingly did not go over well with those from his camp.
"Let's be clear about it, there would be no Karrueche Tran if she hadn't dated Chris Brown," s source close to Brown said. "The world would not know who Karrueche Tran is if she didn't inject herself into Chris' life after the Rihanna incident."
