Camila Cabello may have denied the Shawn Mendes dating rumors, but the singer revealed in an interview that she isn't altogether opposed to dating at the moment.

During an interview on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest," Cabello revealed that she is single and, regardless of her fame, she surprisingly struggles to find dates. When Seacrest asked if guys just walk up to her, she responded, "I wish," adding that it would "make life a lot easier."

The 18-year-old star recently shared what she looks for in a boyfriend in an interview with Latina magazine, admitting she has been naive in the past in falling for the "bad boy." Many fans speculated Cabello may have been throwing shade at her ex-boyfriend Austin Mahone with the comment.

"I think it just needs to be a good person," she said. "I was young and naïve and stupid. But because I'm a good girl, I tend to fall for the bad boy persona, and it ends up biting me in the butt. They end up not knowing how to treat me, and I end up completely devastated. I just need to find someone who is a good person with good values and who is focused."

The star also revealed that any future suitors don't need to be famous because she is looking to stay away from the shady side of the music industry.

In September the singer was rumored to be romantically linked to Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes. The two, who have been friends for some time, were spotted together at several events and shared messages with each other on social media.

Rumors were further fueled by a few flirtatious tweets between the two young artists, however, both stars denied a romantic relationship.

"Me and Camila are very good friends," Mendes told Hollywire. "She's amazing, she's so funny and so awesome and so enthusiastic. She will bring any negative situation you have and make it positive which is really cool."
