It has been seven long years since Metallica released a new album, but now there is video proof that the band is back in their studio laying down tracks for the next album, which has not gotten a release date as of yet.

According to Metal Injection, the band just launched their new website, and they are giving their fans a special treat.

In a video posted to the site, drummer Lars Ulrich talks about the new website, before taking the camera to the recording area, where vocalist and co-founding member James Hetfield was seen laying down new guitar riffs for the next album.

Although Hetfield stopped when Ulrich and the camera entered the studio, he did make a few fantastic comments and even honored Ulrich's request to continue recording a bit, before the drummer left the studio to let the guitarist work in peace.

Hetfield's guitar riffs in the clip were outstanding to say the last. Now that the band is back in the studio, heavy metal fans everywhere will be excited to see what comes next.

The video was framed as if the viewer were a fifth member of the band, a running theme for the band's new website.

Ulrich also talked about tinkering with the site once its up completely and spoke highly of it as a tool for the band to interact with fans.

According to the website, the band will be participating in Super Bowl 50 festivities in San Francisco at AT&T Park. The group will play at the event the night before the game on Feb. 6, 2016.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the upcoming album will be titled "Ghoul Screamer." Guitarist Kirk Hammett spoke with the magazine about the album.

"It's heavy. We've got some heavy stuff going," Hammett said. "It delivers on that front for sure. You know, I would say a lot of it is along the lines of 'Death Magnetic.'"
