Unfortunately, there won't be a sequel of Rihanna phrasing out the runway this year.

After the American lingerie company announced that the "Diamonds" singer will be one of the performers for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this December, E News! reports that RiRi has canceled her gig booking in one of the most sought-after fashion shows airing in television.

The Barbadian beauty backed out on the fashion show because she wanted to focus more on her music as she is set to release her new album. "Anti," Rihanna's eighth studio album, is still on the works and its release date is yet to be announced. While three of the tracks in RiRi's album have been out in the market, a source told PageSix that a lot of work is still needed for her album, prompting her to abruptly pull out the fashion show gig.

The source told the publication that RiRi's album is not yet done and finishing it is on top of her priority list. "She couldn't take the time to rehearse and perform and finish the album. It just all didn't come together," the source added.

However, another tipster told PageSix that Rihanna's abrupt canceling was because she wasn't ready enough to perform her new songs on stage. "She's still working on some stuff and [the music] isn't to a point where she wants to perform it. Things are supposed to be further along, but she's still not ready," the tipster added.

As previously reported by Latin Post, Rihanna was set to perform along with Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, delighting fans of her comeback in the lingerie giant's fashion show. Rihanna performed her maiden act for the Victoria's Secret angels in 2012 and has received applauses for her remarkable performance then.

However, as the 27-year-old singer backed out, British crooner Ellie Goulding has been tapped to replace the "BBHMM" singer for the show. While Goulding has not been a stranger in high-fashion events, a source also told PageSix that the lingerie giant's executives have been lukewarm of Goulding as a replacement, saying that "She's no Rihanna."

Victoria's Secret Fashion show will be held in New York on Dec. 8. It will showcase the freshest lingerie lines as well as 10 new angels. It was also confirmed that pals Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid will strut the Victoria's Secret catwalk for the first time.

Goulding, whose hits include "Anything Could Happen" and "On My Mind," will perform as she promotes her latest studio album, "Delirium."

Meanwhile, here's Rihanna's highly celebrated performance for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2012.
