Donald Trump Compares Jeb Bush to Nazi, Mocks IQ on Par With Forrest Gump
Donald Trump berated Republican presidential rival Jeb Bush in a series of since deleted tweets that compared him to a Nazi.
The New York Daily News reports Trump also blasted the former Florida governor's IQ and mocked his ties to the Mexican homeland of his wife.
"ADIOS, JEB aka JOSé," the bombastic, billionaire real estate mogul posted to Twitter Tuesday, apparently retweeting a message from one of his followers. The tweet also included a collage of racist and derogatory pictures.
In one of them, Bush is captured next to a Nazi swastika and in another he is dressed as the mentally-challenged Forrest Gump, the Tom Hanks-played character from the 1994 hit movie who famously had an IQ of just 75.
In a third depiction, Bush is pictured in a Mariachi outfit and sombrero in a dessert full of cacti. Bush's wife, Columba, is Mexican and has often been critical of Trump's hardline stance on immigration, which includes the boast that if elected he would deport at least 11 million immigrants within two years in office and build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
The offensive collage was originally tweeted by one of Trump's supporters and had been deleted from his page as of Wednesday morning.
"This was retweeted by Mr. Trump like hundreds of others," said campaign spokesperson Hope Hicks. "He did not see the accompanying image and the retweet has since been deleted."
The 15-image montage also proved to be unkind to democratic rival Hillary Clinton, displaying all of her voters as a band of migrant workers. Another picture portrays President Barack Obama laboring to drag the U.S. Constitution across the border.
Still, another picture of Bush is accompanied by the caption, "Even his mom said no to his presidency."
The latest Quinnipiac national poll shows Trump shows leading the Republican field with 24 percent of the vote compared to 23 percent for Ben Carson.
