Nicole Kidman is returning to the DC comics world for the upcoming "Wonder Woman" film.

The Wrap reported Kidman is in talks to join the film in a role yet to be confirmed. The actress would join Chris Pine and Gal Gadot, and it would be the first time she works with director Patty Jenkins.

Details on the project have been kept under wraps, but it is likely to be connected to the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The Oscar-winning actress will return to comic book films after having starred last in Joel Schumacher's "Batman Forever." In that film she played the role of Dr. Chase Meridian. That film was critically panned, and she did not return to the maligned "Batman & Robin."

Kidman has since been in a number of films, including the Oscar-winning film "The Hours," for which she took home the Academy Award for Best Actress. She was also seen in "Rabbit Hole" and "Moulin Rouge," for which she received Oscar nominations. She also starred in "Cold Mountain," "The Railway Man," "Australia," "Dogville," "Stoker" and "Grace of Monaco." She is slated for "Secret in their Eyes," "Queen of Desert" and "Genius" this year.

Warner Bros. is preparing to launch a Justice League film in the same way that Marvel did with "The Avengers." In preparation the studio will release "Suicide Squad," "The Flash" and a standalone "Batman" film. Warner Bros. is also expected to make new "Green Lantern" and "Aquaman" films.

The studio began the reboot of DC Comics back in 2013 with "Man of Steel," a huge box office success but critically panned.

"Wonder Woman" is slated to open on June 23, 2017.
