Salutes to veterans will be plentiful all across the land come this Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2015, with various events and deals for veterans and others alike.

Veterans of Foreign Wars announced there are parade scheduled in every town and city, adding that all sorts of companies are also offering special deals and discounts as a way of saying thanks to servicemen everywhere for their dedication and service.

With the famous Elmer Davis Veterans Day quote, "This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave" seemingly in mind, President Obama officially kicked off the nation's salute over the weekend when he issued his annual Veterans Day Proclamation. In his statement, the president praised and thanked servicemen everywhere for their unwavering level of service and dedication.

"Let us show them the extraordinary gratitude they so rightly deserve, and let us recommit to pledging our full support to them in all they do," he added. "I call on all Americans, including civic and fraternal organizations, places of worship, schools, and communities to support this day with commemorative expressions and programs."

If it's a tasty meal vets crave that day, Cheeseburger in Paradise and Bob Evans Farms & Restaurants are offering free meals to vets with menu selections including cheeseburger and fries, stacks of hotcakes and the sunrise breakfast special of eggs, biscuit and sausage covered in creamy gravy and shredded cheddar cheese.

Ruby Tuesday will also be serving up free appetizers and Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons' Rock & Brews will be offering free pulled pork sandwiches.

If simply looking good is your desire, Sports Clips Haircuts will be offering free cuts to active servicemen and veterans alike, with $1 from every haircut going to the Help A Hero fund.

Deals

At Dell computers, vets will be able to take an additional 15 percent off on select PCs and electronics and at Sam's Club vets will be able to take advantage of a special military community deal offering them an exclusive membership.

The Sam's Club offer also offers savings of up to $45 on various purchases.
