'Shades of Blue' News Update: Trailer to Jennifer Lopez's New Show Premieres
The trailer to Jennifer Lopez's new show "Shades of Blue" has arrived.
The new trailer is action-packed with many chase sequences and shows Lopez in a new phase of her career as she sinks her teeth into a very dramatic role.
"Shades of Blue" tells the story of street-smart Det. Harlee Santos (Lopez), who becomes a corrupt cop in order to solve crimes and keep the community safe. However, when she is caught by the FBI for her corrupt actions, she must make a choice that will define her fate; either protect her daughter or be loyal to her family in blue.
Alongside Lopez, Ray Liotta stars as the corrupt cop Bill Wozniak, who is tasked to protect and serve by any means necessary and take unorthodox measures to do so.
The show also stars Drea de Matteo, Warren Kole, Dayo Okeniyi, Hampton Fluker, Vincent Laresca and Sarah Jeffery. "Shades of Blue" is produced by Adi Hasak ("3 Days to Kill," "From Paris with Love") and Jack Orman ("Pan Am," "ER"). Oscar winner Barry Levinson ("The Humbling," "Wag the Dog," "Homicide: Life on the Street") serves as executive producer.
Lopez was last seen in the Sundance film "Lila & Eve," which also starred Viola Davis and the animated film "Home." She also starred in "The Boy Next Door" as well as "Parker" alongside Jason Statham and "El Cantante." This is Lopez's return to TV as she guest starred in 2010 on "How I Met Your Mother." She was also the host of many reality TV shows including "!Q Viva!" with Marc Anthony and is currently a judge on "American Idol."
Aside from her movie and TV credits, Lopez has been heard on the soundtrack to "Home" and at the "American Music Awards."
"Shades of Blue" is slated to premiere on NBC with a two-hour episode in Jan. 7, 2016.
