AMC is about to expand its horror universe by adding its third zombie series and fourth monster series with the original zombie maestro, George Romero.

According to WHAS11 out of Louisville, this news broke from zombie comic book artist Arthur Suydam, who told the local news station Romero's comic book series "Empire of the Dead" will be coming to AMC network for a television series. This was at the Wizard World Louisville event the city was hosting, which included a whole roster of different personalities.

What is especially unique about this comic book series, according to Comic Book, is it is set in New York City and features the world Romero originally created with "Night of the Living Dead" back in 1969.

The "world" he created refers to the rules set forth by him in the beginning and what causes characters and monsters alike to live or die. It actually is quite different than the world of "The Walking Dead," which has set up its own rules of existence. In "TWD," everyone who dies turns into a zombie, no matter how they die. In Romero's world, characters only turn if they are bitten by a zombie.

But the world for "Empire of the Dead" is quite evolved from what "Night" had started out with, which was followed up with on "Dawn of the Dead," "Day of the Dead," "Land of the Dead" and "Diary of the Dead."

"Empire" will not only host zombies for the apocalypse but vampires as well. The apocalypse will show the fight for survival against both monsters, and all three factions are vying to inherit the Earth.

News of Romero's comic being adapted for television actually broke way back in May, but at the time it did not specify which network or streaming platform would host it.
