Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton To Capitalize On New Romance for 'The Voice' Rating
Production members of "The Voice" are reportedly thinking of flaunting Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's new romance for the sake of show ratings.
It's believed certain changes will have to be implemented on "The Voice" where the new couple's romance will be capitalized on for PR success.
This said change will reportedly start with switching the judges' seating arrangements. A source told RadarOnline that "The Voice" bosses are thinking of placing Stefani somewhere where she is seated next to Shelton.
"Production is discussing whether or not they should now move their seats on the judging row so that they sit next to each other," the source said.
The source further claimed that there will be consequences for Shelton and Stefani now that they have confirmed their romance. They would reportedly have to act as couples on "The Voice."
"Now that Blake and Gwen have gone public with their relationship, there's bound to be a lot of expectations for them to act like boyfriend and girlfriend on-air. The executives are even hinting to them that, when it gets to battle round, they should play it up for the cameras so that they purposely steal each other's eliminated contestants," the source told Radar Online.
Stefani recently opened up about Shelton two days after their respective representatives confirmed their relationship. The singer was asked to describe her new boyfriend in an interview with Dallas/Fort Worth radio station 103.7 KVIL (via Entertainment Online).
The 46-year-old called the country singer a "pretty rad guy." She also commented on their romance, saying that she did not confirm their relationship. However, her representative reportedly did and Shelton's rep also confirmed with Entertainment Online.
Stefani said Shelton, as well as fellow "The Voice" judge Pharrell, were instrumental in bringing her back to her feet following her divorce from former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. She called the rapper a "guardian angel." In her radio interview, she also thanked Shelton for having really helped her through the divorce and described him as one of the "key people" who have pointed her in the right direction.
As for Shelton, 39, a source told HollywoodLife that he loves it that Stefani "lets him be himself." She reportedly doesn't pressure him to act differently when around with friends. The source claimed Stefani allows Shelton to be goofy and immature when with friends and she also "lets him not have to deal with any pressure."
