Pamela Anderson Shares Naked Photo After Winning Battle With Hepatitis C
"Baywatch" alumni Pamela Anderson has already recovered from Hepatitis C after bearing it for 16 years, a feat to which she celebrated by uploading a photo of her very happily and very naked.
According to E! News, the sexy actress shared the news on Instagram, as she uploaded as photo of her without any clothes on.
Anderson was diagnosed with the viral disease in 2002 and she claimed that she contracted it from her ex, Tommy Lee, after they shared a needle for a tattoo.
In order to be cured from the dreaded disease, Anderson said she has tried countless medications and other alternative medicines before she tried out a newly FDA-approved drug last summer.
The star told People in an August interview that being diagnosed with Hepatitis C is something that feels like a death sentence.
"Sixteen years ago that was [presented to me] as a death sentence. I think it really worked on my self-esteem. Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me" the 48-year-old actress said.
Although the viral disease has not really stopped Anderson from enjoying her life, coming across the anti-viral drug is still something she considers as a blessing.
"I'm living my life the way I want to, but it could have eventually caused me some problems and so it was a real blessing that I was able to get the medicine. I'm half way there," Anderson said, emphasizing that she feels really excited and blessed for her.
She also said that she was trying to "remove the stigma" of Hepatitis C being associated from having AIDS.
Even before she started the medication, Anderson said that she's better than ever and probably more so now that she is cured from the disease -- hence, the very jubilant and youthful looking Instagram snap.
"I actually just look in the mirror every day and I feel like I'm looking younger and younger and I feel like I'm getting those 20 years back," she added.
