HTC One M10, One X9 Release Date Surfaced, See More Details Here
HTC has been very hush-hush about the new devices coming up in their collection, but the buzz around the One X9 and One M10 has picked up as of late. The former was not even announced by the company, but the tech circuit has gotten word of the new smartphone through recent leaks, according to a previous report from Latin Post.
Phone Arena notes that the HTC One X9, initially dubbed as the company's next high-end handset, was discussed by the reliable HTC ROM developer, @LlabTooFeR, on Twitter. According to his post, most of the initial reports on the upcoming device were incorrect.
HTC's new device will not be coming with Snapdragon 820 or MediaTek Helio X20, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB to 128GB ROM, 1440p display, 23-megapixel rear camera and 3,500 mAh battery. The estimate on the 4UP front camera is the only detail that's reportedly accurate from the leaks.
The absence of these features points at a different kind of smartphone than the initially believed, specifically one that's not as high-end as early reports.
"HTC E56 (One X9) targeted Q1 2016 Device will be positioned lower than HTC One A9," the developer wrote on Twitter. "It will be released ~2-3 months before flagship 'M10'."
Another source on Twitter dubbed @evleaks responded to an earlier report of the new smartphone saying, "All wrong."
He added the specs of the HTC One X9 including a Mediatek SoC processor and a 5.5-inch display. Other specs are 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera plus 4UP front camera as well as a 3,000 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, no new information about the HTC One M10 has been announced, apart from an estimate of its release date, two or three months after the One X9's first quarter launch in 2016.
A report from Crossmap summarized the expected specs of the upcoming HTC flagship handset, particularly Qualcomm 82x series that's currently undergoing testing. It will also reportedly feature an impressive 27-megapixel front and rear camera, as well as 4GB of RAM, dual-SIM support, two speakers, touch ID fingerprint scanner and a 3,500 mAh battery.
HTC is looking to boost the sales of their handset line with this latest collection of smartphones. According to a recent report from Tech Crunch, HTC's latest financial report came out and registered a $139 million net loss for the third quarter of 2015. This is a slim improvement from the previous quarter's $156 million net loss, continuing the Taiwanese company's woes this year.
Do you think the One X9 and One M10 will help HTC earn more in 2016?
