The new "Finding Dory" trailer debuted exclusively on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Tuesday.

Dory, the forgetful blue tang fish, voiced by DeGeneres, is back in the upcoming Pixar animated film, according to the Daily Mail.

In the new movie, the much-anticipated sequel to 2003's "Finding Nemo," Dory goes on her own adventurous journey to find out where she came from.

The trailer opens on Dory sleeping and snoring alongside her clown fish pals, Nemo, voiced by Alexander Gould, and his dad Marlin, voiced by Albert Brooks.

Dory begins to talk in her sleep, saying, "Don't cry, mommy. Don't cry!" Her talking wakes Nemo up. When he goes to calm Dory down, he finds she's gone.

He tells his father, "Dad, Dory's sleep swimming. She's talking in her sleep." The two bring Dory back home, but then she vanishes again, sleep swimming away.

Another clip in the trailer shows Dory, Nemo and Marlin talking with a manta ray.

Dory says, "My family, they're out there somewhere. I have to find them."

Director Andrew Stanton spoke about his decision to make "Finding Dory" while at the D23 Expo in August.

"I wanted to know that if this charming, forgetful fish ever got lost again, that she would be OK, that she would find her way home," Stanton said, according to E! "At the end of 'Finding Nemo,' I wasn't confident about that. So that's when I knew I had another story."

"Finding Dory" is set for release on June 17, 2016. Other stars who have already signed on to voice characters include Idris Elba, Dominic West, Diane Keaton, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson and Ty Burrell.
