Although it does not come as a big surprise, ratings giant "American Horror Story" has already been renewed for Season 6 on FX. But there might be more than one season next year if creator Ryan Murphy gets his way.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "AHS" has officially been renewed for its sixth season, but there has been no word yet on what the theme will be for that season. The horror anthology series has long set up a new theme for each season with many actors returning to the show playing different characters each year.

What Murphy has long said about the series run for 2016 is that he wants to dish out two seasons in 2016, not just the standard one season. He announced this fairly soon after "Fear the Walking Dead" was announced on AMC, which will essentially put "The Walking Dead" universe on year round with a few small breaks.

This is something that Murphy himself wants to do with "AHS," keep it going for as much of the year as possible. He has already said he has two ideas for Season 6, and the idea not chosen could show up in Season 7 later that same year.

The current Season 5 is hosting the troupe of actors in the "Hotel" installment, which marks the debut for singer Lady Gaga. The series has enjoyed enormous success this season with the addition of Lady Gaga to the cast, even though longtime top star Jessica Lange has not appeared yet -- and there is no indication that she will.

Lady Gaga has already been invited back to do Season 6, but she has not officially accepted the invitation yet.

Long-time star of the series Evan Peters has voiced his dream of doing a "Space" season, which would likely be a play off the Ridley Scott hit film "Alien."
