WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns Facing John Cena or Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32
Seth Rollins injury that will keep him out for six to nine months have caught the WWE off guard and their plans for the next few months leading to WrestleMania have changed. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling News Observer via Wrestling Inc, Roman Reigns was scheduled to win the WWE championship at Survivor Series against Rollins and is tentatively planned to win the WWE Title Tournament.
Meltzer, per Inquisitr, noted that there were discussions to have Roman hold title and defend it at WrestleMania 32. He already has two possible opponents, John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
The idea of Reigns facing Cena is because of the reactions both men get from the audience. WWE thinks that the WrestleMania crowd will cheer Reigns and boo Cena, but Meltzer said that Reigns was booed way more than Cena at WrestleMania 31.
As for Lesnar, there is a possibility of him winning the 2016 Royal Rumble and face Roman in a rematch. However, the feeling within the WWE is that Reigns will get booed way more than he did last year, considering that the fans cheered very loudly for "The Beast."
In a separate report by The Wrestling News Observer via Cage Side Seats, WWE is concerned about the number of faces compared to heels in the main roster. The company is not 100 percent locked in for Roman Reigns as champion because they want to have a strong heel that is believable enough to have a feud with Reigns.
Give Me Sport suggested that Roman should turn heel and embrace becoming the most hated man in the WWE. Just like in Survivor Series 1998, a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion was held and it was The Rock against Mankind in the final with The Rock winning the title, turning heel and joining forces with The Corporation.
The report added that Reigns needs to face Dean Ambrose in the finals and have a good, clean match until Roman decides to cheat to beat Ambrose. He could also align himself with Triple H and The Authority while Ambrose has the character that is likened to Stone Cold Steve Austin that fans would cheer.
This week's episode of Monday Night Raw in Manchester, England started with Triple H offering Reigns to become the new WWE champion and "sell out" just like Seth Rollins. He said no, but it looks like there is a chance that Reigns may indeed turn heel and align with The Authority.
What do you think? Will Roman Reigns become the new WWE champion and turn heel? Who do you want to see him face at WrestleMania 32? Just give your comments below.
