Just like any other ordinary Disney Pixar film lover, Ellen DeGeneres has waited for a "Finding Nemo" seque. The release of its sequel trailer on Tuesday marked the end of her long 12-year wait.

Two years after she announced that the animation will have its follow-up movie, the talk show host proudly showed off "Finding Dory" trailer by uploading it on her website and social media sites, as reported by New York Daily News.

It seems that DeGeneres' wait is worth it. After frequently bugging Disney and Pixar execs about a sequel for the well-loved animation in her numerous "Ellen DeGeneres Show" episodes, she got what she wanted.

Back then, DeGeneres reprised the role of Dory in the 2003 animated movie, as the forgetful tang who accompanied Marlin in search of his son, Nemo. But now, the movie is all about the talk show host's character.

In the trailer, the story goes back to Marlin and Nemo's home and they took Dory along them. While the two clown fishes were sleeping, Nemo suddenly wakes up to a sleep-talking and sleep-swimming Dory and the little clown fish sensed something wrong about her. When she woke up, to everyone's surprise, Dory remembered something.

"My family are out there somewhere! I have to find them!" she said. However, the trailer isn't clear about the mystery that the father and son, as well as Dory will soon face.

Even before the trailer was released, the talk show host had already spilled where the story revolves.

"She's been lost for a long time, and she's just tried to act like everything's fine. And in this film, you see that it's kind of like she's taken a little bit of a - she's paid a toll on it," DeGeneres told People in August. "She misses the fact that she has a family, and she realizes she has a family. And where are they? Did her parents give her away? Where is her family?"

DeGeneres also said in the interview that she is excited to do the role again because Dory "is a really sweet character."

Referring to Dory as a "flawed" character, DeGeneres thought that it's "important for kids to grow up and see flawed characters that are lovable."

"If they make mistake after mistake, they have a little surrounding pack, like a friendship with all these other fish that they travel with that forgive her," DeGeneres said.

In the film, Dory's parents will be reprised by Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy. "Finding Dory" will hit theaters June 2016.
