Kobe Bryant has hired a film crew to follow him for his 20th NBA season, which many suspect will be the last of his Hall of Fame bound career.

According to Yahoo, during the LA Lakers' recent road trip to New York to face the Knicks and the Nets, a film crew followed Bryant's every step and captured his every word.

While the 37-year-old, five-time champion hasn't officially said this will be his final NBA season, the writing appears to be on the wall, with everyone from Lakers' general manager Mitch Kupchak to coach Byron Scott recently hinting they're convinced this is Bryant's final act.

"My message has been consistent all the time. If I change my mind, I'll come back and play. If I don't, I won't," Bryant told Brian Mahoney of The Associated Press during the team's run in New York. "I've been pretty consistent with that, so I don't know how much, what else can I say?"

Thus far, this young NBA season has been unkind to both Bryant and his Lakers. The team has stumbled to a 1-6 start, while Bryant is shooting just 32 percent and averaging nine points below his career average of over 25.

Now comes word Bryant is experiencing back pains, which caused him to sit out Tuesday night's 101-88 loss to the Miami Heat. This comes after he has played just 41 games over the last two full seasons due to an assortment of injuries.

"I had trouble walking," he said. "I've been dealing with the back a little bit during training camp. Today, I couldn't shake it free."

He later added, "You've just got to try to stay on top of it and maintain it. It's not like back spasms or anything like that."

It's not known when Bryant might return for the Lakers, but when he does, the cameras will almost certainly be rolling.
