It looks like the cast and crew of Star Wars may be returning to Hoth -- the cast and crew are in Iceland filming! 

According to Metro UK, the cast and crew are heading to the Scandinavian country in a few weeks, in anticipation of principal filming beginning this May. The Iceland shots are reportedly "landscape plate shots," which will then be used to create CGI scenery (what a difference a few decades makes in terms of special effects! When the original Star Wars series was shot, they were all freezing their collective behinds off in Norway...)

There's no word yet as to when, or if, the cast will show up in Iceland to film. 

According to a press release put out on StarWars.com, the events of Episode 7 are confirmed to take place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and will be filmed primarily at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. The press release also confirmed that the film will star "will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces." The "familiar faces" line, of course, all but confirms the presence of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Billy Dee Williams, but the "trio of new young leads" is still up for speculation, with everyone from Lupita Nyong'o to Adam Driver being offered up for the roles.

Because it's taking place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and the Powers that Be are doing a great job of keeping everything under wraps, there's a strong possibility that anything could happen. Some folks -- like those over at What Culture -- are speculating that we will be getting the first look at the Yuzhan Vong in this Episode. "Even though I'm eagerly anticipating whatever story the Sequel Trilogy will tell, for my money (Which Disney will be getting regardless of what happens. Seriously, I will duel children in the corridors of the cinema to see that film), the best thing to do with the Sequel Trilogy is to include extragalactic invaders the Yuuzhan Vong as the films' antagonists," they write.
