Nintendo 3DS will soon get a classic game of the "Pokemon" series after it was announced that the Original Pokemon Games will head to Nintendo 3DS soon.

After a series of announcements, Nintendo confirmed that the "Pokemon"  red, blue and yellow versions are all coming to the Nintendo eShop on Feb. 27. The date given coincides on the first day the original series was launched and introduced in Japan in 1996. Apparently, players can avail of these retro games using their Nintendo 3DS instead of its original platform, which is the Game Boy Link.

According to TechRadar, the original games of the "Pokemon" series will have two-tone graphics, the original sprites and the original sound effects. As much as Nintendo wants the original game to be free of any alteration, there might be some changes on the game's perspective such as modernization of battling and trading system. Nintendo will also work on integrating the game so it could be playable using Wi-Fi and not the traditional Game Boy Link Cable. That being said, players don't need to search high and low for their link cables just to play the retro "Pokemon" games.

Meanwhile, during the Nintendo Direct, the company featured some of their game highlights this holiday season and in the coming year. Some of the revelations mentioned include the character Cloud from "Final Fantasy VII" will also be used and will join as a character in the playable DLC of "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" is currently being developed for an HD remake for Wii U. Scott Moffit of Nintendo America said, "There's never been a better time to join in on the fun with Nintendo." He also mentioned the coming of "Xenoblade Chronicles X" in 2016 alongside "The Legend of Zelda" and "Pokemon."

Nintendo 3DS has a list of upcoming games based on the Nintendo Direct announcements and they include "Hyrule Warriors: Legends," "Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam," "Fire Emblem Fates," "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes," "Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon" and "Nintendo Badge Arcade."

Third-party games were also included in the list, which means that  you'll be able to see some featured games from Square Enix, Capcom, Graphite Lab and many more in the latest Nintendo lineup.
