There's no doubt that the PS4 still has the edge over the Xbox One when it comes to console sales, but this October showed a significant change on that story as Xbox One reigned over the PS4.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the NPD Group reported that the video game "Halo 5" contributed much for Xbox One's marketing when it was bundled with the console. This year showed an increased sale on the console system, whereas the PS Vita and the Nintendo 3DS slowed down a notch on the market. Liam Callahan, director of Games Industry Analyst, said on the NPDGroupBlog that despite the "Assassin's Creed" and a price cut for the PS4 console, it was the "Halo 5" bundled with the Xbox One that made the "System Seller."

Ars Technica said that it is actually the influence of exclusive games that gave the upperhand to Microsoft's Xbox One console. In a tweet by Aaron Greenberg of Microsoft, he said, "Huge thanks to our fans for making Xbox One best selling console in Oct and "Halo 5" #1 selling game according to NPD." Despite NPD not releasing the exact figure on the said stats, Microsoft revealed that they were able to post an 81 percent increase on sales this October compared to that of last year.

Where gaming is concerned, of course, you can expect the "Halo 5: Guardians" to come on top followed by "NBA 2K16" and "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." The list also includes "Madden NFL 16," "WWE 2K16," "Destiny: The Taken King," "Yoshi's Wooly World," "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" and "Rock Band 4." If anything else, the Xbox largely has more to offer as they also feature backwards compatibility, which allows Xbox One users to play their Xbox 360 games on their consoles. With over 100 backwards-compatibility games to offer, it's hard to miss the Xbox One console.

Also, the Xbox One is all set to receive the latest from Microsoft, which is the Windows 10 update. This update intends to enhance the Xbox One software as well as its features within the game. These various upgrades by Microsoft on their Xbox One consoles have contributed to the increasing sales of the console, but overall, the PS4 still leads the chart as the number one selling console. Also, PS4 is not far behind as it was recently announced that it will also have a price cut.
