‘Need For Speed’ PS4 Gameplay Update: New Patch Will Bring Balanced ‘AI Catchup’, Challenges, Trophies & More
It's been over a weekend since "Need for Speed" launched, but Ghost Games said the journey is only beginning. As the fans embark on the racing favorite, the developers unveil their plans to make the gaming experience even better, stronger, and, of course, faster.
According to an official release at the "Need for Speed" website by Ben Walke, the developers will be tuning in to word from fans in terms of what to improve and what to offer next.
The release revealed that one of the most talked-about points of the community was "rubber banding" or "AI Catchup." As a result, the next game update will include a more balanced "AI Catchup" to compensate for the feedback Ghost Games received from the launch.
Other features that can be expected in the upcoming patch include mirror functionality, improved color picker, Hoonicorn and Morohoshi-San Diablo and neons. Players will also get to enjoy a REP increase of 50-60 as well as 3x trophies and achievements and brand new daily challenges for those who already need more incentive to play. New pre-set wraps will also be available and general bugs, tweaks and improvements will be underway.
No exact release date have been confirmed for the "Need for Speed" update, but the post revealed it will be live before the end of the month.
While there have been — and will probably still be — glitches in the beloved racing game, one thing that fans can count on is that their voice will be heard by the team running "Need for Speed."
"Last week we pushed live a fix that looked to address the stutter players on Xbox One were experiencing," Walke shared on the website post. "Early reports are looking good with a number of players now reporting that the stutter is a thing of the past, but we will as always, continue to monitor."
Meanwhile, a new teaser video for "Need for Speed Edge" was recently released, according to a report from MMOSite. This spin-off is developed by SPEARHEAD or formerly EA Korea, and is set to be a free-to-play online title that will feature next-gen graphics and Physics that are optimized for online play thanks to Frostbite 3 engine.
"Need for Speed Edge" will introduce its closed beta on Nov. 26 while the game is slated for release in South Korea next year.
"Need for Speed" for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is currently out in the market.
