It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

Included in the feature was said to be revelations of alleged affairs Paltrow has carried on with various men. After the actress allegedly aggressively campaigned against the magazine, the story was never published.
Chris Martin Didn't Want to Break Up?
Hollywood Life writes that it's possible the break up isn't as mutual as the statement makes the split to be. Coldplay has a new single titled "Magic," could it be possible that Chris is writing the song for Gwyneth?
The song is about being broken and refers to the strained love as "magic." The song carries striking lyrics like "I don't want anybody else but you" and "I can't get over you, Still I call it magic, It's such a precious jewel."
Listening to the song, one can't help but wonder.
