Ariana Grande Breaks Record With Three Top 10 Debut Singles
Ariana Grande is the first artist to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with each lead single from all three of her albums.
The 22-year-old "Love Me Harder" singer recently released her new single "Focus," which is featured on her upcoming third album "Moonlight." The song landed at No. 7 on the Hot 100, according to Billboard.
Grande's other debut singles also placed atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her single "The Way," featuring rapper Mac Miller, included on her debut album "Yours Truly," landed at No. 10 on the chart in 2013. Then, her debut single "Problem" featuring Iggy Azalea, included on her sophomore album "My Everything," placed at No. 3 on the chart in 2014.
Not only has she achieved a music milestone with her new single "Focus," but the track is also her sixth song to make the Hot 100 top 10. Other than the three debut tracks from her albums already mentioned, Grande's songs "Break Free" featuring Zedd, "Bang Bang" featuring Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, and "Love Me Harder" featuring The Weeknd all found their way onto the chart.
"Focus" is the first song of Grande's that has made the Hot 100 chart without a guest artist on the track. However, the song does feature uncredited vocals by Jamie Foxx.
Grande was also recently featured on the remix of Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" This track is not included on Bieber's "Purpose" album.
Grande and Bieber previously performed together on stage during a concert in April, where they got a bit hands on with each other. The incident left Big Sean, Grande's boyfriend at the time, displeased.
"Moonlight," Grande's forthcoming third studio album, does not have a solid release date yet.
