'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 2 Finale Spoilers: Find Out Who Shot Annalise [Watch]
In the upcoming episode of “How to Get Away With Murder,” fans of the Shonda Rhimes produced series will learn who shot Annalise Keating (Viola Davis).
A teaser for Episode 9 of Season 2, the winter season finale, shows the group of troubled law students questioning each other's sanity while suspecting one another of betrayal.
Viola Davis, who this year made a historic Emmy speech wherein she thanked those actresses that helped to redefine what it means to be a black woman on television, is no stranger to speaking up for causes.
Talking with AARP the actress explains that with age comes reflection and a sense of social responsibility.
"Turning 50 is making me reflect on my life in a way that's more compassionate and forgiving," said Davis. "I'm able to almost accept the old me."
Davis revealed that when she was younger she struggled with a feeling of inferiority tied to poverty.
The actress feels blessed now, and prizes her personal successes as much as her professional ones.
"When you grow up poor, you dream of just having a home, and a bed that's clean -- that's a sanctuary,” she said. “Having a really great husband, a child who's healthy and happy and brings me joy -- all of that has been my dream."
Davis recalls growing up and not knowing when her next meal was coming.
"Most of the time, the school lunch was the only meal I had,” she said, revealing she would often eat at a friend’s house or even resort to stealing food.
Davis has taken her personal experience with hunger and decided to be part of the solution.
The actress, who will play Amanda Waller in the upcoming super hero film “Suicide Squad,” has become a spokeswoman for Hungeris.org, a campaign centered on eradicating childhood hunger.
The winter finale of "How to Get Away With Murder" airs Nov. 19 at 10/9c on ABC.
