Android users can now expect a more convenient way of using the Google maps on their devices. In the Google Maps' official blog, the company reveals how the new updates will allow you to check out gas prices of gas stations nearest you as well as quick rerouting ways without actually leaving your current Google Map navigation.

The latest updates from Google Maps deliver a much more convenient and practical way to make a trip without having to worry about the location of your next stop. Road trips can be tiresome and stressful, but Google Maps will be there to direct you to the nearest gasoline station, restaurant and grocery store.

To use the latest updates, just tap the magnifying glass icon on the screen and a drop-down menu will appear. The drop-down menu will show some of the most searched destinations and you can start pressing from there. In case you can't find what you're searching for, you can also tap the search function and dictate your choice of destination. As Aditya Dhanrajani, Google Maps product manager says, "Whether you're low on fuel, forgot that bottle of wind for the dinner party, or just really need a coffee to get through your next appointment, Google Maps is here to help make stressful times easier."

Neurogadget also reveals that the newly updated app will not only tell you the nearest gas station, but it will also offer comparative gas prices. Google Maps will consolidate all the nearest gas stations from your location and will tell you their current prices. All you have to do is pick the most practical station to go to and fill up.

The navigation app also allows you to add a detour on the map, and you don't have to leave the navigation platform you're currently in to do it. Previous versions of the app require the user to refresh their navigation once they make a stop other than the indicated location on the map. Now, Google has eliminated that.

Currently, only Android users have the advantage to use the updated Google Maps. No official announcement has been made if it will be implemented on other mobile software.
