'Finding Dory' Voice Actress & TV Host Ellen DeGeneres Acquires $16M Beverly Hills Mansion
Did the "Finding Dory" voice actress and morning show TV host Ellen DeGeneres acquire another luxury estate in Los Angeles?
DeGeneres, the brilliant 57-year-old TV personality, has been rumored to have bought a Beverly Hills mansion worth around $16 million, Variety reported.
The Metairie, Louisiana native and her wife, Portia de Rossi, known for the TV series "Ally McBeal" and "Scandal", have decided to add a new property in their real estate portfolio. The couple discreetly purchased the Beverly Hills mansion, which was not offered publicly on the market, noted the blog.
The California residence is described as a contemporary dwelling place built in the 1960s. The Los Angeles home covers just under 5,300 square feet and displays four bedrooms and eight bathrooms, noted the real estate site, citing public property records. Other features of the abode resting on about 0.75 acres of Los Angeles land include a very long driveway to give the house privacy, a motor court near the entrance and an adequately sized swimming pool for de Rossi's and DeGeneres' enjoyment. However, Variety hinted that it may be small to be used for swimming parties.
Interior details include spanning glass panels for a comfortable and airy ambiance.
Aside from this property, Variety noted that de Rossi and DeGeneres also own a sprawling Montecito property that covers 13 acres of land, two Los Angeles condominium units worth $16 million and a Hollywood Hills ranch house.
DeGeneres, a Dory in real life
DeGeneres who lent her voice to Dory, the very much-loved blue fish character in "Finding Nemo," is just like her in real life. The TV host always maintained the sunny disposition and the "Just keep swimming" attitude -- Dory is famous for -- in real life.
In her interview with Good Housekeeping in 2011, she talked about her "positive outlook on life" "I'm definitely happier than I've ever been. I assume tomorrow I'll be happier than today because things are great," the TV host said.
However, it doesn't mean she is oblivious to what's really happening around her and she even wanted to be part of making the world a better place.
"But I have a healthy dose of reality. The world's a scary place, you know? It can be really sad and stressful and negative. I try to counterbalance that...I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that," added DeGeneres.
In June 2016, she will give life again to Dory in theaters via "Finding Dory," Coming Soon noted.
