Paris Attacks Update: Surveillance Video Shows Gunman Firing at Paris Restaurant
A new video has been released showing a gunman opening fire on a pizzeria in Paris during the deadly attacks on Friday.
In the surveillance footage obtained by Daily Mail, several people are sitting within and outside of the restaurant, when shattering glass begins to rain down upon them, forcing them to take cover.
The scene is shown from three angles. In the first, the gunman can be seen walking outside of the restaurant. He approaches an outside table where one woman is hiding, and attempts to fire down on her, but amazingly, his gun jams. He then leaves, and the woman is able to escape.
Another angle shows an apparently injured woman enter the restaurant and duck behind the bar where a waitress is hiding. The waitress wraps her arms around the woman until she determines that the gunman has left, allowing them to flee down to the cellar.
Other diners take cover beneath tables until the flurry of bullets stops.
The identity of the gunman in the video has not been revealed, though Daily Mail claims that it may be 26-year-old Belgian born Salah Abdeslam.
Abdleslam was one of the eight Islamic State militants involved in the attack, and he is the only one to remain at large.
On Wednesday, French authorities raided an apartment in the Saint-Denis suburb north of Paris. During the seven-hour siege, police killed 27-year-old Belgian national Abdelhamid Abaaoud, suspected to be the ringleader in the terror plot that left 129 people dead.
A woman, suspected to be Abaaoud's French-born cousin Hasna Aitboulahcen, killed herself with an explosive vest. Eight other suspects were taken into custody by French authorities.
