The WWE released Hulk Hogan from his contract last July 24 due to his anti-black racist rant from a sex tape, where he repeatedly used the N-word and some homophobic slurs. Hogan is arguably one of the biggest and most popular wrestler in the history of the WWE, leading the 1980s Golden Era of Wrestling.

TMZ Sports first reported the release of the leaked tape involving Hogan that led to his firing from the WWE. His merchandise was removed from their shop and his WWE Hall of Fame page was discarded, basically erasing him from the company's history.

In a September interview with Sports Illustrated, the six-time WWE champion said that he's not really a racist and he is sorry for what he did. He revealed that he was just in a very dark place in his life when he made the racist rant, undergoing a messy divorce with his wife Linda and some health issues.

"Yes, I said it. I'm accountable for it, and I'm so sorry. I'm not a racist. I've got a lot of support from the African-American community. I'm just so sorry I was in a situation where I was venting and I was mad," Hogan said.

WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Paul "Triple H" Levesque, who called Hogan that he was going to be let go, recently appeared at "Greg and the Morning Buzz" to promote Survivor Series and was asked if "Hulkamania" will ever return to the WWE.

"For me, I hope so. It's about reinvigorating his brand and him as a human being and the confidence within the world as to who he is," "Triple H" said as quoted by Wrestle Zone.

"We did what we needed to do and he'll do what he needs to do to get himself back. Re-establishing who he is as a human being I'm sure is of utmost important to him and I'm sure he's gonna do it and when he does, we'll go from there," he added.

Hogan recently toured in the U.K. and was a guest on UTV Ireland's "This Morning" show. He said that he understands what the WWE did and they are just doing what is politically correct. He also insisted that he has no hard feelings towards the company, and is very thankful to his family and fans that have stayed loyal to him.
