‘Chivalry: Medieval Warfare’ PS4 & Xbox One Release Date Set, Gamers to Enjoy New Mode
The future of gaming is bright with an endless stream of new titles stretching out in the horizon. However, there are also gems to be found looking back and sometimes bringing back a popular favorite from previous-generation technologies can pay off. Developer Activision is hoping the success of "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" continues in the new generation as they bring the multiplayer-focused game back for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to a report from GameSpot, Activision confirmed that the popular "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" will be making its way to the consoles' respective digital markets. Developed by Torn Banner Studios, this multi-player action game will feature over 25 maps and 24-player online multiplayer capabilities.
More details were revealed including support for dedicated servers. The new Horde Mode will also be introduced, requiring six players to "battle monsters and survive waves of new enemies in this fantasy co-op showdown", according to the official website of Torn Banner.
Players can opt to get their hands on the "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" Ultimate Edition, which will be available with four expansion packs that offer extra DLC and in-game goodies. These include the Barbarian Character Pack, which contains new barbarian skins for all of the classes in the game; the Marauding Arbiter Pack with skins and helmets for the Vanguard class; the Inquisitive Dreadnaught Bundle with new skins, helmets and weapons for the Knight class; and the Barbarian Weapon Pack with five brutal weapons of war.
While the Ultimate Edition, also called Gold Edition on the official website, offers all the DLC packs to the players, those who want just one or two can purchase it separately instead.
"Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" for PC was launched in 2012, scoring 79 on Metacritic. It went on to successfully sell two million copies on Steam, according to a report from Eurogamer, before finally landing on Xbox 360 in 2014 and PlayStation 3 earlier this year.
Now, players can try the game at a good price. The standard edition of "Chivalry: Medieval Platform" costs only $20 on both platforms, while the Ultimate Edition comes bundled with four expansion packs at a reasonable $30 price tag.
It's landing soon and gamers can begin their medieval holiday early with this action game that's sprinkled with some entertaining humor. Xbox One users can begin pre-ordering on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
"Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is slated to be released on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
