Cincinnati Bengals vs Arizona Cardinals: NFL Sunday Night Football Schedule, Predictions, Stream & Preview
The Cincinnati Bengals Arizona Cardinals will play each other in one of the most anticipated NFL games of this season. These two teams have a combined 15-3 record, so you can bet we're in for a good one on Sunday night.
Let's preview the game and pick a winner.
Cincinnati Bengals (8-1)
The Bengals undefeated streak came to an end last week when they fell to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. A bad loss, but the Bengals are still 8-1, and they're still very much in the running for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. This franchise has the longest playoff win drought in the NFL dating back to 1990.
The Bengals have been balanced all year long. Defensively, the Bengals rank first overall in points allowed, and they've been shutting down the run all year. Offensively, the Bengals rank fifth in points scored. This game will be the toughest test for the Bengals this season.
Andy Dalton has been in the MVP conversation because of his great play this season. The young quarterback has 18 touchdowns and five interceptions with a 104.6 passer rating. Still, the Bengals have to continue to run Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. The Cardinals have a strong offense, so establishing a run game and keeping their offense off the field is critical.
The Bengals face the St. Louis Rams next week.
Arizona Cardinals (7-2)
Carson Palmer gets to face his old team this week. Palmer spent seven long years in Cincinnati, but he's playing great with the Cardinals. Palmer is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards in a season with three different franchises. He also did so with the Oakland Raiders in 2012.
Chris Johnson has proven to be a huge free agent addition. Despite the fact that he went unsigned for almost the entire offseason, Johnson has 734 rushing yards. Only Adrian Peterson has more rushing yards than Johnson does this season. The Cardinals have one of the most powerful offenses in the league ranking first in yards accumulated and second in points scored. Palmer is throwing the deep ball as good as any quarterback in the league.
Larry Fitzgerald is having another fine season. The future Hall of Famer leads the Cardinals with 836 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He's also making huge blocks that other wide receivers wouldn't dare to make. The Cardinals picked up a huge road win last week against the Seattle Seahawks, so they have a commanding 3.5 game lead in the NFC West.
The Cardinals face the San Francisco 49ers next week.
Schedule
The Bengals and Cardinals play each other on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC. The game will be played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. You can watch a live game stream here.
Prediction
This should be a fun game to watch between two playoff bound teams. For some reason, Dalton and the Bengals just don't seem to play their best when they face a great team on prime time television. Maybe it's too much pressure to handle. Having home field advantage and Palmer wanting to get revenge should propel the Cardinals to a victory.
Cardinals win 33-27
