Crowd favorite Mark Hood saw his road come to an end during Season 9, Top 12 live performances of "The Voice" Monday night.

Parade reports the competition came down to Hood, a member of Pharrell Williams' team, and Korin Bukowski, repping for Gwen Stefani. Along with Bukowski, surviving to croon another day were Jordan Smith, Jeffrey Austin, Emily Ann Roberts, Braiden Sunshine, Barrett Baber, Madi Davis, Amy Vachal, Evan McKeel, Shelby Brown and Zach Seabaugh.

In the case of Bukowski and Hood, after the Instant Save was invoked, Hood performed "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours," and Bukowski sang "Don't Know Why" in hopes of moving viewers at home to Tweet in their support for them.

When all was tweeted and done and host Carson Daly announced the results, Hood took his defeat with grace, telling Williams, "I want to thank you for everything. You really helped me find my love for music so much more than before I got here. If this is the end of the road for me, then that is enough. I am happy, I am content and I thank you for everything."

During his initial performance, Hood sang a stripped down version of Phil Collins' "Against All Odds," a performance that even nearly brought Stefani to her feet.

"What I love about you is you are so full of heart and spirit," she said. "It was nice to see you in that sensitive moment."

Bukowski, who arrived for the competition rocking a new, platinum blonde hairdo, also earned raves with her rendition of David Guetta's "Titanium."

Fellow judge Blake Shelton implored her, "Please keep thinking that you are not cool because that is what is so cool about you. That has to be one of the hardest songs to sing and you nailed it."

With the field now reduced to 11, Hood hinted he thinks Smith may be the one to beat for the title.

"You know, you've got to know your role and your lane on the show, at least for me, and to know where you sit, you know?" he said. "I knew that I wasn't going to beat Jordan, I just wanted to stay in it long enough to hang around."
