Leicester City 3 - 0 Newcastle United
Leicester City extended their remarkable run this season and finally took the top spot after cruising to a 3-0 win against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Jamie Vardy had another impressive night for Leicester City as he kicked off the scoring parade before the first half ended, striking a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. With the goal, Vardy matched former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nisteelroy's record of 10 consecutive games with a goal.
Leonardo Ulloa made it 2-0 with a header in the 62nd minute, while Shinji Okazaki scored their third goal in the 83rd minute of the match, sealing their eighth victory in 13 matches against just one defeat and four draws.
Manchester United 2 - 1 Watford
Meanwhile, Manchester United overtook Manchester City and Arsenal in the standings after escaping with a 2-1 win in a thrilling encounter on Saturday at Vicarage Road Stadium.
Memphis Deepay gave the Red Devils an early 1-0 lead with a goal from the center of the box off a cross from Ander Herrera. Manchester United looked poise to take a 1-0 win, but Marcos Rojo conceded a penalty after fouling Odion Ighalo in the 86th minute of the match.
Troy Deeney scored the equalizer with the penalty kick, but the 27-year-old forward committed a huge error with an own goal in the 90th minute, allowing Manchester United to get three points from their match.
The Red Devils are now second in the standings with 27 points from eight victories, three draws and two defeats. They are just one point behind Leicester City.
Week 13 leader Manchester City dropped to third place with 26 points after taking a disappointing 4-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.
Arsenal, who took a 2-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion, are in fourth place. Like Manchester City, the Gunners also have 26 points after 13 matches, but have an inferior goal difference.
