Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo is motivated to beat this 2015 NFL season's undefeated Carolina Panthers.

For Romo, they have a chance to be the first team to blemish the 10-0 win-loss standing of the Panthers this season, NFL.com reports. It will not be a new task for the California-born ball passer and the Cowboys, who already managed the task of serving the first loss to some unbeaten football teams in the past.

"In the past, we've played against a few teams that have been undefeated. We'll try and look back to some of those times and see what we can do," the 35-year-old quarterback said in his NFL interview.

Romo displayed the same optimism before the Cowboys met the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 22. The quarterback, who had just returned after sustaining a left collarbone injury to a team with a 2-7 win-loss record, still believed that things would turn for the better, per another NFL.com report.

"I think they also understand that the season is not over. It's far from it. I think right now we just need to understand that we're getting started, and we've got to go do our job and do it to the best of our ability and start getting this thing on the roll," Romo said.

The Cowboys Believe in Romo

The 2014 Most Valuable Player candidate's positive attitude rubbed off on his teammates and Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones, as shown on how they appeared optimistic right after his return, the site noted.

His mere commanding presence could have pushed the Cowboys to do well against the Dolphins.

Jones shared that the defining moment could be the time when Romo had the ball for his first "throwing down." Instead of a right-hand pass, he rolled it and "pushed that ball out there with his left hand, right in the middle of that monsoon."

"That just gave me a shiver, and I know it inspired our team," the Dallas team owner said.

ESPN noted that Romo threw well using his right hand, but the way he managed to escape being tackled by a Dolphins' safety and even passed the ball using his left hand was a feat.

Romo led the Cowboys to beat the Dolphins to a final score of 24-14 and improved their standing to 3-7, ESPN noted.

Cowboys will have a showdown with the Panthers on Thursday, Nov. 26, per the Cowboys' site.
