Kanye West and A$AP Rocky are in the studio together and may even be collaborating on a new project.

West associate Ian Connor recently posted a pic to Instagram of the two hip-hop singers hanging out in the studio together with the caption, "2016 Started Tonight."

Yeezy's creative director Virgil Abloh only added to the frenzy by simply leaving the caption to the same pic on his own Instagram page blank.

Hot New Hip Hop reports it is still unclear what the rappers' meeting in the studio means. Both West and Rocky are also figures in the fashion industry and model Connor's involvement leaves open the possibility the coupling could ultimately be in that area.

West also appeared on Rocky's album "At Long.Last.A$AP," likewise leaving open the possibility the two could be returning to their days of making music together.

It's been a busy few days for Rocky, who also hit the studio with Juicy J before hooking up with West. Several media outlets have reported he then spent time convincing pal Tyga to make things right with girlfriend Kylie Jenner, before sharing a late-night car ride with Jenner to continue playing matchmaker.

The couple appeared on the outs for several days after she elected to skip his much publicized Hollywood birthday party, but the two now appear to have reunited. Jenner recently hosted a more intimate dinner for the "Rack City" rapper, with the couple joined only by her older, model sister Kendall. 

Meanwhile, West has hinted that it could be a while before he actually comes to release his highly-anticipated "SWISH" album, but fans continue to hope it will come sooner rather than later.
