Google Nexus 7 Tablet vs. Nexus 10 2 Price and Specs Review: Upcoming Nexus 8-Inch Release Date To Rival iPad Mini, Kindle Fire
It was back in 2012 when Google launched its Nexus tablet. The 7-inch tablet became an instant hit and immediately competed head on with other tablet producers. However, it has been over a year since the original Nexus tablet was produced, and we have yet to see a follow-up. In the world of tablets, this means a lot as more powerful devices with better features have been released since then.
There was, however, an improved version of the Nexus 7 that was released in 2013, but the manufacturers opted to keep the same name. The new tablet is a definite upgrade from the older version when it comes to design and software. The new tablet is lighter and thinner. It comes with a 200 x 114 x 8.65 mm dimension and weighs only 299 grams, compared to the older version's 340 grams of the older version.
The overall design is minimalistic, but has all the necessary ports that you would want in a tablet. This includes a Micro USB port and audio jack. The new version also comes with a 7.02-inch full HD display with a 1920 x1200 resolution. It also has a scratch-resistant glass protection and a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera. However, it does not have a flash, as is the case with many other tablets.
The best part is that despite all the upgrades, the price is still kept at the minimum. For around $300, slightly more than the original Nexus 7, you get your hands on the newer device.
For those who want a larger screen, the Nexus 10 is $399 and features a 2560 x 1600 resolution screen at 10.38 x 6.99 x 0.35 inches (263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9 mm). It weighs 1.32 pounds (603 g) and has a 5 MP front and 1.9 MP back cameras. It runs on a Dual-core A15 and Quad-core Mali TS04, with memory of 16GB or 32GB and 2GB RAM. It has NFC, Micro USB, Micro HDMI, a 3.5mm headphone jack and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
Though the Nexus lineup already has a lot of positive changes, plans of releasing the Nexus 8 are already underway. Google is allegedly making an 8-inch tablet to avoid being in competition with other products that are around 6 to 7 inches in size, such as iPad Mini and Kindle devices. The release date is rumored for the end of April, but there have been no confirmations of this yet.
