Beyonce Launches New Clothing Line With TopShop Owner Philip Green
Beyonce is teaming up with TopShop owner Philip Green to launch a new clothing line.
The 34-year-old "Crazy In Love" singer will be working with the retail tycoon's Arcadia group, along with Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge on the new business venture, according to NME.
"We are developing our distribution globally for the launch of this exciting new brand in spring 2016," a statement from the company reads.
The clothing line will be a street wear brand and is going to be made available in 20 countries worldwide, Green told the Evening Standard. There is no word on what the exact name of the brand is yet.
Arcadia group recently reported their operating profits, which are up 5.5 percent to $267.19 million, while sales from the 12-month period to August equal up to $2.19 billion.
Beyonce also runs the clothing line House of Deréon with her mother Tina Knowles. The brand, which was introduced in 2004, was inspired by the three generations of women in their family. The name pays homage to Beyonce's maternal grandmother Agnèz Deréon. Beyonce and her sister Solange Knowles launched a junior line Deréon in 2006, but discontinued it in 2012.
In other news, Adele recently confirmed that she did not turn down a duet with Beyonce.
"I would never disrespect her like that," the "Hello" singer said.
While speaking with Zane Lowe during his Beats 1 radio show, Adele shut down the recent claims, saying she has turned down many offers, but would never do so to Queen Bey.
"There's a rumour going round that I turned Beyoncé down. Which I would never be so disrespectful as to do. I'd never disrespect her like that," she explained. "Obviously, like, Queen B 'til the day I die."
Beyonce released her eponymous fifth studio album on Dec. 13, 2013. The album produced the singles "XO," "Drunk in Love," "Partition," "Pretty Hurts" and "Flawless."
