This year's Black Friday is shaping up to be an incredible one for getting some ridiculous deals on gadgets and electronics of all shapes and sizes.

Gadgets & High Tech Toys: Black Friday 2015

BB-8 by Sphero

As Lain Post previously noted, the breakout, must-have high-tech toy this year is the cute little bouncing soccer ball droid from the upcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

It's called the BB-8 by Sphero, and it's much more than an action figure. It's a fully-functioning app-enabled remote controlled droid, and the latest version of it (2.0) features an "adaptive personality."

That means you can set the BB-8 to a fully autonomous mode, talk to it, and the more you interact with the ball droid, the more it adapts its attitude and actions to your personality.

It comes with Bluetooth, wireless inductive charging, and sells for $150 at Sphero's site, where it's still possible to get it shipped before Christmas, if you can catch it soon while it's still in stock. Amazon currently has it in stock as well, and is guaranteed to come before Dec. 25, but that comes with a $30 markup.

Finding it in store this Black Friday at any retailers will likely be next to impossible.

But if you're shopping for someone young enough (who can't yet distinguish what an "adaptive personality" is), the knockoff remote controlled BB-8 toy for ages four and up costs $80 and is available at Target.

Hoverboards

For older kids and adults, one of the gadgets high on the list is a "hoverboard." A misnomer, "hoverboards" are two-wheeled conveyances that more technologically akin to mini Segways than they are to anything from Back to the Future Part II.

They're also functional, which is more than you can say about hoverboards from the movies.

The two-wheeled boards are banned in the U.K. and New York City, but for the rest of us, that just gives hoverboards an outlaw appeal.

They're hard to find this season, especially on sale, but Kohl's (of all places) is selling the Sharper Image SOGO Self-Balancing Scooter for $370 this Black Friday, in stores only.

That's a discount of $130, and it comes with about $100 extra Kohl's Cash to spend on some edgy outlaw clothing accessories. Or thermal socks. Those are always nice.

Drones (a.k.a. Quadcopters)

The final hot tech gift this holiday season is recreational drones, also commonly known as quadcopters. Drones come in all shapes and sizes, with prices to match, so getting the right kind is important.

For kids and beginners, the cheaper, smaller toy drones are your best bet, and Walmart is selling the diminutive Sky Viper X-Quad Stunt R/C Drone for $25 on Black Friday. Another option is Target, where a 20 percent off promo code brings the slightly heavier-duty Sky Viper M200 Nano Stunt Drone to a price of $30.

Target is offering 20 percent off its full line of drones online with free shipping, so for the more serious enthusiast, the $80 Sky Viper Video Surveillance Drone, which is already on an 11 percent sale, is a great mid-range buy.

If you want a heavy duty drone with a camera, extended range control, and extreme maneuverability, JCPenny is offering the normally $150 Sky King Quadrone with Camera for 33 percent off online. And if you get it in store as a Black Friday door buster, you can get an additional $50 off through a mail-in rebate, bringing your total price to $50.
