"Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" may not be making as much noise ahead of its release compared to its contemporaries in the video game industry, but the game franchise boasts its own niche of fans worldwide. Unfortunately, the developer recently confirmed that the newest "Dead or Alive" installment will not be hitting the shelves in the U.S. or European countries.

The statement was made on the official "Dead or Alive" Facebook page in response to a fan who asked about the game making its way to the different regions.

"We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won't have any plan change in the future," a rep from the page replied in a comment. "Thank you for asking."

Later, the representative added, "Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you."

The fans of the franchise were quick to share their own thoughts on the matter from those who understood the publisher's hesitance to subject the game to backlash from long-time players who slammed their decision to deny the fans in the U.S. and Europe of the new title.

The "Dead or Alive" franchise is well-known for its easy and fuss-free gameplay, but also for gratuitous shots of females sporting skimpy bikinis. With the recent backlash against sexualized treatment of women in the media, lead developer Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo seem to have opted out for a wider release this time around.

Many fans have been looking forward to the upcoming installment of the series, especially after the recent release of the trailer for "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3."

According to a report from Games Radar, the new teaser doesn't just offer a peek at the fun and games, but also shows off the new tan line technology that leaves the characters' complexion darker as they stay out in the sun. The one-minute video also provided a look at the Tug-of-War and Pool Hopping mini-games that players will be able to enjoy in "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3."

While "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita will not be hitting the stores in the U.S. or Europe, a version of the game with English subtitles will be released in Asia in 2016. Will you be picking up a copy?
