The elusive OnePlus brand received its operating system update for its OnePlus X model, and it has little to do with the Android Marshmallow that currently runs the device.

According to GSM Arena, the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update will not replace the Android OS; instead, it will enhance what's already been there. Specifically, the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 will augment the existing micro-SD card feature and enhance its support on the device. What's great about the update is that users can now interchange the app location to and from the card. This feature will enable you to maximize your handset's internal storage.

Previously, the micro-SD card has caused the automatic shutting down of the device whenever the card is removed, but not this time as the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update was able to address the issue. Enhancement is just one of the few features of the Oxygen OS update because according to OnePlus, it also includes some bugs and fixes on the handset's software as well as an added security feature for the phone.

TechnoBuffalo said that the update, which has already been released, will reach only a few users for the mean time. Initially, only 10 percent of the brand's users will be able to try the new update, but the company said that they will definitely implement it within 24 to 48 hours after the initial release.

OnePlus, also known as the "flagship killer," is an elusive brand because users can only buy it through an email invitation. In a previous report by the Latin Post, it said that a consumer needs to receive an email invite in order to get the said device.

OnePlus X's specs include a five-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. It has a 13-megapixel primary camera, Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM. The handset is powered by a 2,525 mAh Li-Po battery and runs on the Android's Marshmallow OS. The handset is equipped with a 16GB of internal storage and a micro-SD card slot. The unit weighs around 138 grams and has 6.9 millimeters of thickness. The color variation of the OnePlus X model includes Onyx and Ceramic. The unit has slots for dual and nano SIM cards.
