'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: Hugh Jackman Sings in 'Wolverine: The Musical'? [Watch Here]
Hugh Jackman is one diverse actor; one minute he's "X-Men" superhero Wolverine, the next he's bringing showing off his vocal chops on "Les Miserables."
To the delight of fans everywhere, Jackman stopped by BBC Radio 1's "The Matt Edmondson Show," on Saturday where the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star happily sang spoof lyrics of a so-called "Wolverine: The Musical," writes Entertainment Weekly.
Always up to promote his new movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past" hitting theaters May 23, the 45-year-old Australian sang the impromptu song to the tune of "Who am I?"
Watch the performance below and see Wolverine deliver the funny lines such as, "Who am I? Am I a superhero with some claws? Or just an actor searching for applause?"
That's not where it ends, the lyrics also made fun of Jackman's Wolverine diet saying:
I can not eat this ice cream anymore
I need a body people can adore
I gave up junk food that I know
I made that bargain long ago
All my snacks and crisps they're gone
Now this wolv-er-ine can go on.
One of the highlights of the song was when Jackman couldn't contain himself and laughed when he failed to hit a high note.
While on the topic of singing, People Magazine recalls that Hugh will be hosting Broadway's Tony Awards on June 8. Already an Emmy winner back in 2004, the ever hilarious Neil Patrick Harris has been filling in Hugh's emcee duties.
The upcoming "X-Men" film's plot spans two time periods, the characters of the original "X-Men" film trilogy and their younger selves from the "X-Men: First Class" and the battle they must alter in order to save their future. Actors that join Hugh in the "X-Men" film include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult and Patrick Stewart, to name a few.
