PS4 vs Xbox One Console Sales War [POLL] - PS4 Hits 30 Million Sales Worldwide
With Black Friday weekend over, consumers worldwide are all picking up their favored console while the sales are abundant, but will the results reveal a shift in the tides of the ongoing console war?
With the Xbox One dominating sales in October, it was safe to say Microsoft was fairly confident in their console's victory this holiday season, and so were a number of readers who participated in our last article's poll, as nearly half the votes went to Xbox One. It still however, came in a close second to the PS4, as that console stands at 49 percent with 517 votes and the Xbox One at 40 percent with 626 votes. The Wii U stands at 1 percent with 25 votes, and 7 percent (91) of voters opted on not buying either.
Poll
While we don't yet have the results of the Black Friday sales, Sony recently revealed a huge milestone in PS4 sales, with it hitting 30 million worldwide since its release in 2013. This is reported to be the "fastest and strongest growth in PlayStation hardware history."
"We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago," Andrew House, the group chief executive at PlayStation stated. We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide. Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation."
Microsoft has yet to release any recent overall sales numbers for the Xbox One, however it is still predicted to be far from the PS4's. The recent gaming lineup for the Xbox One, and the update for backwards compatibility has made it a fighting contender this season, but no massive shift in sales should be expected so soon.
