‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason Finale Recap and Spoilers: A Major Death and More Lives Left Hanging
It's that time of the year again where fans of "The Walking Dead" have to muster through the holidays with no new episodes coming until next year. But there are several things that happened in the midseason finale that will keep the gigantic fan base reeling with excitement.
Please note ahead in this article, there are spoilers for Episode 8 of Season 6 titled "Start to Finish." If you have not watched that episode, please proceed with that in mind.
According to E! News, there were no real surprises for what happened at the beginning of the episode. The tower crashed through the wall and the Walkers were making their way through for an Alexandria buffet.
What is absolutely clear at this point of the show is Rick Grimes is no stranger to situations like this. It happened on the hilltop, the farm, the prison and even at Terminus. So that means Alexandria will be no different than those for the series hero. He will lose people and he also has the means to survive.
The biggest loss of the episode was the Congresswoman Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh). But she was not the same naïve person as last season when Rick and company came to her doorstep for refuge. She was bitten by a Walker trying to save Rick. She was successful but at the same time sealed her fate.
Her death was a touching moment between her and Rick. They were barricaded in Jessie's house. She also took out a few Walkers in her own "blaze of glory" before she died, telling Rick that Alexandrians are "his people" now.
The event didn't end with that though. Everyone had to scatter to every corner of the safe zone and take refuge in houses, scaffolding and garages. There was a waiting game in progress at one point, but a few Hail Mary's took place and they eventually scattered.
Carl was put at risk by one of Jessie's sons and they eventually end up on the street. Rick and the crew use the cover of Walker guts to reach the armory. Morgan and Carol have a showdown that leave them both unconscious and freed the "Wolf." Fans last saw Denise dragged out into the street so the Wolf could escape as others helplessly watched, seeming to foreshadow her demise.
