After rumors circulated that Metal Gear Solid V contained a secret cut scene involving nuclear disarmament, game publisher Konami has confirmed the alternate ending.

The developer not only confirmed that there is a secret nuclear disarmament event that can be unlocked in the game, but also gave details on how exactly players could unlock it, Techspot reports.

Even with the details, the secret cut scene is extremely hard to unlock. In order to get the nuclear disarmament ending to show, players have to cooperate with all other players on their console or platform.

Players have to agree to dismantle all of their nuclear weapons. This must occur on the entire regional server at once.

All nuclear weapons in the FOB (Forward Operating Base) must reach zero in order for the nuclear disarmament event to trigger.

Konami has been monitoring how many nukes are in the FOB in recent weeks. Players have been dismantling their nuclear weapons quickly.

Players on the Xbox 360 servers are the closest to 0 nuclear weapons in the FOB, having just 39 nukes as of Nov. 28. On Nov. 1, there were 1,011 nukes on the Xbox 360 servers. Players can monitor the Metal Gear Twitter account to see the updated nuke count.

Here are the four conditions needed to unlock the secret scene, according to IGN:

Players must have completed Mission 31.

Players must not own or be currently developing a nuclear weapon. If they have any nukes in stock, they must dismantle them.

Certain conditions related to nuclear proliferation must be met on the regional server for a corresponding gaming platform (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC(Steam)).

All nuclear weapons on the regional server corresponding to a console or platform must have been dismantled. In other words, the amount of nukes on the platform's server must be equal to 0.

"If all four conditions are met, you will automatically trigger the secret nuclear disarmament event when you return to Mother Base or after you complete a main mission," the instructions from Konami read. "Should new nukes be developed after conditions 3 and 4 have been fulfilled, this event can be repeated by fulfilling all four conditions again."
