Elisa Padilla to Be Honored at WISE Women of Inspiration Celebration
Elisa Padilla has been chosen as one of the honorees for the upcoming Women of Inspiration Celebration held by the NYC Metro Chapter of WISE (Women in Sports and Events).
The inaugural ceremony, which is taking place at the PlayStation Theater on Tuesday, Dec. 8, will recognize Padilla and several other women for their contributions in the spheres of sports and events, according to a press release.
Padilla, who is senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, will be honored along with two other local sports executives from New York City. The other honorees are CBS Sports producer and director Suzanne Smith and Karen Davis-Farage, president and co-owner of Pole Position Raceway.
Some of Padilla's regular duties include overseeing marketing efforts for the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, according to NBA.com. She helps out with branding, advertising, merchandising, database research, creative, websites and social media in connection with the team and arena.
One of Padilla's most successful campaigns was Hello Brooklyn, which led to the rebranding strategy of the Nets from New Jersey to Brooklyn. She has also played a key role in creating the brand identity for the Barclays Center through its five programming franchises. Padilla also established the sixth and most recent programming franchise, which saw the New York Islanders begin their season at the arena in fall 2015.
Padilla's areas of expertise include sports, entertainment, events and Hispanic marketing.
Padilla was first made director of the Nets in 2010, was then promoted to the vice president position in 2012, senior vice president in 2014, and finally her current role in 2015. She is known for her abilities in developing creative marketing campaigns, strategies and solutions for customers who come to her seeking exceptional results.
Before working with the Nets and Barclays Center, Padilla accumulated marketing experience with companies such as AT&T, HBO Sports, Nickelodeon, the NBA and the New York Knicks.
