The Rolling Stones Tour and L'Wren Scott Death: Band to Resume Tour After Suicide of Mick Jagger's Girlfriend
The Rolling Stones are now set to return to the stage late next month, after postponing several concerts due to the recent suicide of Mick Jagger's long-term girlfriend, L'Wren Scott.
On March 17, the 49-year-old designer and veteran stylist tragically took her own life in her Chelsea apartment in New York City. On the morning of her death, Scott allegedly texted her assistant Brittany Penebre at 8:30 a.m., asking her to "come by" her place at 10 a.m. Penebre then made a horrific discovery.
L'Wren Scott was reportedly days away from filing for bankruptcy on her self-tiled fashion label. An NYC medical examiner's office ruled her death was by hanging.
Jagger, along with his supportive bandmates Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, called off their seven-date Australian and New Zealand tour as they came to terms with the recent loss. The 70-year-old rocker headed to California, accompanied by his family members, and a private funeral was held for L'Wren Scott in Los Angeles last week.
The legendary rock band has revealed its new tour dates in Europe, which is slated to resume on May 26 at Norway's Telenor Arena in Oslo. The newly-announced dates are part of the Rolling Stones' 14 on Fire world tour, which will see them performing live in Portugal, Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Sweden, giving their final performance in Denmark on July 3.
Mick Jagger has been coping with his girlfriend's death, comforted by his daughters and spending his time at his eldest daughter Karis's home in Los Angeles.
