The video game "Rocket League" has reached a new milestone -- a combined eight million users on PlayStation 4 and PC.

According to GameSpot, despite the huge number of registered users, this is still minimal because "Rocket League" is offered for free to all PlayStation Plus members this year. Because of the increased number of users, developer Psyonix is compelled to release a new DLC for the game, specifically for the add-on content Chaos Run. Apart from these, free updates for "Rocket League" will also be available.

The "Rocket League" DLC will include two new battle cars (Ripper and Grog) and six new decals for each new battle car. It will also feature Camo and Sun-Damaged, which are new paint types, as well as two new rocket trails named Sandstorm and Nuts and Bolts. Additional three new toppers will also be included namely Boom Box, Cow Skull and Mohawk. Five new trophies will be available for PlayStation 4 players while Steam players get to have new achievements. Three new antennas will also be featured in the DLC: Bomb Pole, Radioactive and Retro Ball-Wasteland.

Players who have been playing "Rocket League" for quite some time will notice some fresh updates including new non-standard Wasteland arena, additional garage surprise items and a new post-apocalyptic music titled "Scorched Earth" by Kevin Riepl.

If that's not enough, GameSpot also revealed that the Portal-themed "Rocket League" DLC has already been released. The latest Psyonix announcement featured on GameSpot said: "Obtainable by playing a full game of Rocket League, the official portal items are officially rewarded at the end of every match, win or lose."

For the Portal items coming to "Rocket League" this Dec. 1, the list includes the following

  • Cake (Topper)
  • Conversion gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
  • Cake Sticker (Antenna)
  • Companion Cube (Antenna)
  • Personality Core (Antenna)
  • PotatOS (Antenna)

Psyonic has recently partnered with Valve in order to bring Portal to the "Rocket League" game. The game is only available on PlayStation 4 and Steam, but Psyonix previously teased that they may be heading to the Xbox One as well.

"We're looking at all kinds of platforms and there may be some announcements coming up at some point. Hopefully before the end of the year, but I can't confirm that," the developer said.
