WhatsApp is, by far, the most updated text and call messaging app available on the market, and despite it being very popular on Android-based handsets, it has also made its own name in the iPhone line. The latest from WhatsApp's update is for iPhones called the WhatsApp Update 2.12.12.

According to Neurogadget, the latest WhatsApp update has some new features to offer as well as typical yet equally important bug fixes. The latest update basically shows some overall enhancement to the application.

The WhatsApp for iPhone version 2.12.12 contains some enhancements on the links users receive, integrating a rich preview. In this feature, the link will let the user see the title and a brief information about it. The user can then choose whether to use the rich link or not. This particular update is important to those who are on-the-go and has no time to open a link immediately.

The 3D Touch feature is also included in WhatsApp Update 2.12.12, where the popular peek and pop feature of the iPhone is included. A redesigned settings tab is also included in the update as well as chat settings, where the user can view starred messages. The 3D Touch, a "Peek and Pop" feature, apparently works depending on the pressure of your fingers on the screen.

Previously, Gadgets NDTV featured the WhatsApp Update 2.12.10, saying that the app includes a quick reply button. The quick reply button allows the user to reply to a message straight from the notification area without actually opening the message. The WhatsApp Update 2.12.10 that features a quick reply has been primarily made available on the iOS8 but has later been integrated to the iOS9. The iOS9 version allows third-party sources to provide the download of the said app.

The previous version has also allowed the user to reply to an incoming WhatsApp call using a message directly from the notification. The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus have been the two devices that received most of the WhatsApp update.

WhatsApp Update 2.12.12 is now available for download on the Apple Store.
