San Bernardino Shooting Today: 20 People Shot in Mass Shooting
The San Bernardino Fire Department (SBFD) announced at least 20 people were shot in the 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue, while reports state 14 people are dead.
In a tweet released from the SBFD, officials are working to clean the scene. The San Bernardino county sheriff department has also alerted people to avoid the area due to police activity around Orange Show Road, Waterman Avenue and Park Center Circle.
By 2:26 p.m., the San Bernardino Police Department (SBPD) confirmed of an active shooter and a swat team is assisting in efforts.

According to affiliate KABC, 12 people were confirmed dead. The shooting is reportedly in the Inland Regional Center, a social services building that includes work for people with developmental disabilities.
San Bernardino is located approximately 60 miles from Los Angeles. The mass shooting comes less than a week after another shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Nov. 27, which resulted in three deaths including a police officer.

UPDATE: 4:47 p.m. EST: Inland Regional Center, alleged location of shooting, has its holiday party on Tuesday. Images and video were posted on social media.
Reports from various media outlets are that police are searching for a black SUV in which the shooters are believed to have fled.
UPDATE: 5:00 p.m. EST: Obama, speaking to CBS News for a pre-scheduled interview, commented about the San Bernardino shooting. He said, "We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world, and there's some steps we could take, not to eliminate every one of these mass shootings, but to improve the odds that they don't happen as frequently."
Update: 5:03 p.m. EST: In press conference, SBPD and the Sheriff's Office report that more than 14 people are dead and at least 14 people are wounded. More information provided via social media.
