Now that the year is winding down, the video game community begin to look to the upcoming year and study what's in store for the players. It's been a big year in games and technology, but the Xbox team is looking to surpass their success by launching another major lineup for Xbox One.

Microsoft's Windows and Devices Marketing corporate vice president Yusuf Mehdi revealed that next year could be even more massive. According to a report from GameSpot, the marketing executive spoke at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference, saying the future looks bright for the gaming arm of the company.

"We've had probably the best year we've ever had for Xbox," Mehdi said. "And it's on the back of the greatest games lineup in Xbox history. So if you like to game, this is the year to get an Xbox. We have 'Halo 5' launching. We have 'Minecraft' on Xbox. We have 'Gears of War,' 'Tomb Raider'."

He added, "The best lineup; next year will also be the best lineup."

Some of the confirmed games that are set to make waves in next year's Xbox roster will include "Quantum Break," "Crackdown 3," "Inside," "Scalebound," "Below," "Gears of War 4," "Killer Instinct Season 3" and "Sea of Thieves." More games will likely be announced as the year approaches, making the Xbox One roster even more beefed up.

New titles aren't the only thing making Microsoft's upcoming year a big one. Mehdi discussed the Xbox's crossovers with other company devices making it a more flexible and "powerful" device in the households.

"But the other interesting thing is now we're bringing that Xbox gaming value prop to other devices, in particular the PC," he explained. "So we've have an Xbox app that ships with Windows 10 that lets you see your social graph of Xbox while you're not on your PC. You can now stream Xbox games from your console straight to your PC. So if your family is in the living room watching a movie, you can be quietly in the office playing 'Halo' and being very productive."

The team is in total agreement with each other as Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg already hyped up the 2016 collection in an interview with GameSpot earlier this year. Calling this year's products "the greatest games lineup", he continued by saying, "I think you'll see that our sort of relentless focus on delivering great AAA blockbuster games doesn't stop."

"I really feel like the team is firing on all cylinders and we're not going to stop after this holiday," Greenberg went on. "Frankly, next year's lineup is as big if not bigger."
